This fantastic embroidery skill is only inherited to the generation of the female. To master this intricate skill, Miao people have to practice sewing from a very young age, around 6 to 7 years old. At that age, the young girl starts learning how to embroider flower and prepare their wedding clothes. Their mother and female elders are responsible for teaching and inheriting the embroidery. The girl devotes all of her passion, and imagination to focus on embroidering their wedding dress. It takes almost 2 years to finish a fancy dress. The wedding dress will take a longer time to finish it. Usually a wedding dress is the best one of their embroidery. When they finish their wedding dress, it is the time for the girl to get married. Therefore, every wedding dress consists with their labor and wisdom. 

Analysis

Ethnic minority’s embroidery from Southwest of Guizhou Province in China is one of the brilliant Chinese traditional cultures. It is inherited from a long history and now still keeps vividly alive in Miao people’s life. Their participation is not only for creating a great work of arts related to their life but also containing deep culture and beliefs, which is the symbol of worshipping ancestors and passing blessings to the next generation. Moreover, their embroidery has an important mission of recording history among the Miao people. 

Along with the rapid development of modernization and urbanization, their life has been dramatically changed. The invasion of outside world, in particular the broken environment and the lost young generation, leads this fantastic skill hard to inherit. Many young people give up the ancient skill instead in favor of better opportunities of the city. 

In the future, what these traditional culture and skill would be like? It is hard to say, but for now as increasing number of people begin to concern about it. I believe that one day the young generation will be back to their culture, which is their root and pride. It is just because their brilliant culture that has gained a worldwide attention.
